This June, REALTORS® scored two very important political victories when Congress extended the closing deadline for the federal Homebuyer Tax Credit and reauthorized the National Flood Insurance Program. President Obama signed both bills into law this morning. Had our allies in Congress failed to act, NAR estimates over 6,200 real estate transactions in Georgia could have been jeopardized.

These victories were no accident. They were made possible by the hard work of our professional lobbying staff in Washington, the impact of over 250,000 emails from REALTORS® to Members of Congress in response to NAR's Call for Action, and our success at using the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) to help elect pro-REALTOR® lawmakers who support you and our industry.
