Homebuyer Tax Credit Closing Deadline Extended

Congress has approved an extension of the June 30 closing deadline for the federal homebuyer tax credit.  Buyers who were under contract as of April 30 will now have until September to close their purchase and retain eligibility for the credit.

School Supply Drive

PCBR Charity Yard Sale
Saturday, August 7th | Open field in Hill City
PCBR will be holding this Yard Sale to raise funds to benefit local charities: Pickens Animal Rescue, the Joy House and the Good SamaritanCenter. Donations are now being accepted including clothing, shoes, knick-knacks, miscellaneous items, books, VHS tapes and DVDs. Many volunteers will be needed the morning of the sale to move items to the school, to assist with the setup and to work the sale. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Sharon Wofford at 706.253.2920. The drop off location is Unit H at 51 Bryant Square; the key is available at Andy Hartman's office.

This June, REALTORS® scored two very important political victories when Congress extended the closing deadline for the federal Homebuyer Tax Credit and reauthorized the National Flood Insurance Program. President Obama signed both bills into law this morning. Had our allies in Congress failed to act, NAR estimates over 6,200 real estate transactions in Georgia could have been jeopardized.
